  • Leave for a period of time from a few seconds to 15 minutes, depending on the degree of saturation of the desired shade.
  • You can test the resulting tone by applying it to a small piece of glass
  • If additional painting is necessary (for a more saturated color), re-immerse the plexiglass in tsaponlak, completely drying it in advance

Second method

This option is suitable for painting not large surfaces, parts, plexiglass products.

Attention: Includes self-production varnish consisting of organic glass sawdust and vinegar essence (proportion 6:1), the ingredients must be completely dissolved.

  • Next, you need to add dye to the mixture and dilute it. Most often, ordinary ballpoint pen ink is used, but this significantly reduces the color spectrum of the dye. Possible colors: red, black, green, blue.
  • During the cooking process, precautions should not be neglected. Try to prevent the varnish solution from getting on your skin and clothes. If this does happen, you need to immediately rinse the affected area thoroughly with water.
  • This varnish is capable of dissolving organic glass material, so the parts must be carefully painted, but without direct immersion in the varnish.

As a result, the treated surface becomes more durable, resistant to fading, and easier to polish.

Third method

It includes preparing the glass plane; it will need to be treated with gasoline and then wait until it dries completely.

  • Next, the glass is placed in a mixture of detergent(temperature is about 500 C), it must be left in this state for 10-15 minutes. And, subsequently, rinse with cool water, and then immediately proceed to coloring.
  • The cleaning solution consists of water and washing powder, in a 1:1 ratio.
  • The paint is prepared in advance by mixing 20 g of benzyl alcohol, 5 g of dye (for acetate silk) and 2-3 g of washing powder. Then it is diluted with 1 liter of hot water (approximate temperature - 80 o C) to obtain the desired consistency.
  • Now you should place the glass material in the paint and keep it in it for 15 minutes, remembering to stir the dye throughout the entire colorization procedure.

If desired, you can create a unique decor from plexiglass and cover it with multi-colored stains.

You will need:

  • Nitro paint of different shades
  • Pour 2-3 tablespoons of background paint onto a sheet of whatman paper
  • Apply the remaining dyes to the resulting base, in random order (about 5 drops, 2-3 tones)
  • Fold a sheet of paper into an arc and pour the contents onto glass surface
  • Make sure that the paint fills the entire plane (do not use a brush, this will damage the drawing)
  • Place the glass at a slight angle in case of large drips to get rid of excess
  • Pre-prepare the workspace, place something under the plexiglass being processed (you can big piece cardboard)

Attention: If the final result is unsatisfactory, it is better to clean the surface of dyes using a swab soaked in solvent and repeat the painting process.

Deep coloring of organic glass

Before painting, the surface of the products must be thoroughly cleaned, otherwise an even color and tone may not be obtained. The surface is wiped with a swab made of soft fabric, soaked in gasoline or alcohol, dry and immerse for 15 minutes in an aqueous solution of detergent. The solution temperature should be within 50-60°C. Then the product is thoroughly rinsed in cold water and immediately transferred to the dye solution, which is prepared as follows: mix 5-15 g of dispersed dye until a homogeneous mass (paste) is formed (when choosing a color, you can use Table 3.1 as a guide), 2-3 g of neutral washing powder (for washing natural silk fabrics) and 20-30 g of alcohol (ethyl, butyl or benzyl) and add hot water to a volume equal to one liter. After thorough mixing, the solution is filtered through a nylon cloth folded in half (a nylon stocking can be used).

One of the conditions for good coloring is to protect the solution from contamination, to continuously stir it during operation, periodic filtration in case of repeated use, and to add alcohol as the solution is consumed. Color saturation depends not only on the temperature of the solution, but also on the dyeing time. To obtain an average color saturation, the dyeing time should be 15-20 minutes.

After dyeing is completed, the product is thoroughly rinsed in cold water and dried. Dyeing should be done in dishes made of materials that are resistant to the dye used (glass, porcelain), otherwise the color may not be rich and the dishes will be damaged. You can also use enamel cookware.

For plexiglass painting you can use several methods.

1. Tsaponlak is used for painting.First of all, you need to prepare a glass or enamel container of suitable size for immersing the parts. The exposure time in the dye depends on the degree of color saturation you want to achieve. It can range from a few seconds to 15 minutes.

2. The varnish is made at home. To do this you will need plexiglass filings. You can use sawdust left over from cutting or drilling plexiglass, or you can specially prepare it using a file. Sawdust must be dissolved in vinegar essence in a ratio of 1: 6. In this case, precautions must be taken: the resulting solution should not get on the skin. If this does happen, you should immediately rinse the affected area well with water. Also, you should not allow vinegar essence to get on your clothes and other things - it can ruin them.

A dye should be added to the resulting composition (for these purposes, you can use, for example, a paste taken from the refills of ballpoint pens), after which you can apply it to the surface

Plexiglas. This method not entirely suitable for intensive coloring of large surfaces. It is best used to add color to plexiglass parts and small products made from it.

3. In methyl alcohol (methyl alcohol is poison!) 0.5 g of aniline dye dissolves. Then the resulting solution is brought to a boil in a steam bath. The part to be painted must be prepared while the paint is cooking. It also needs to be heated by briefly immersing it in boiling water. Then the glass is removed and transferred to a container with boiling dye. This method is convenient because the paint forms a surface layer and its particles penetrate the plexiglass.

4. Before painting, the surface of plexiglass should be especially carefully prepared. To do this, the glass is wiped with gasoline and left to dry for some time. Then the sheet is dipped into a detergent solution with an average temperature of about 50 C°. A saturated solution is prepared at the rate of 1 kg of washing powder per 1 liter of water. The glass must be kept in this composition for 10-15 minutes, then rinsed cold water and start painting immediately.

The paint must be pre-formulated by adding a special dispersed dye for acetate silk to benzyl alcohol (5 g of dye is taken per 20 g of alcohol). 2-3 g of regular washing powder is also added to the alcohol solution. Next, the dye is diluted hot water to the desired consistency (1 liter of water is poured into the indicated volume). The prepared glass is immersed in the resulting paint at a temperature of approximately 80 °C. The holding time is approximately 15 minutes. The dye must be stirred periodically while the plexiglass is in it.

5. This method allows you to create multi-colored stains on the surface of plexiglass. It is better to use it in cases where it is necessary to paint the workpiece small size.
It is necessary to prepare nitro paint of several colors. Pour 2-3 tablespoons of the paint whose color will be the background onto a landscape sheet. You need to randomly drip other paints onto the spread base (about 5 drops of two or three different colors).

After this, the album sheet should be bent in an arc, forming a gutter, and the composition should be poured onto the glass. The paint should cover the entire surface. No brush is used here; if there are large drips, the glass should be placed at an angle to remove the excess.
