The power of the electric hob. Induction cooker power: electric stove and hob, how much electricity does an electric stove consume

16.06.2019 Radiators

the federal law No. 261 made many think. Why? After all, it regulates energy efficiency issues. In addition, it obliges budgetary organizations to annually reduce electricity consumption.

Agree, the task is not easy. Imagine big government agency. Dozens of people work in it, for them there is an impressive canteen. It has stoves, lights and so on. The question is how to shorten Energy consumption without big expenses?

The answer to the question is simpler than it seems. This is an induction cooker. Given kitchen equipment designed to replace classic electric stoves. At the same time, energy consumption induction cooker significantly lower than that of the classical electric. And the efficiency is higher.

Why is an induction cooker energy efficient?

Firstly, an induction cooker does not need a 20-30 minute warm-up, like a classic electric stove. Calculate how many precious watts you will thus save in a year in a departmental canteen.

Secondly, efficiency of an induction cooker more than one and a half times higher than that of the electric one. The first transforms electrical energy into a thermal one with an efficiency of 90 percent, and the second - with an efficiency of 55 percent!

Third, induction cooker consumeselectricity discretely. That is, if necessary, the "gluttony" of technology is reduced, as are your electricity bills. Not a single classic electric stove can boast of such a thing, since it turns on in the morning, works throughout the day and turns off only at the end of work, while consuming very a large number of electricity.

So, are you ready to cut your electricity bills? improve energy efficiency and start making more money? Then contact Techno-TT and pick up your induction cooker.

When choosing any household appliances it is necessary to pay attention to what power consumption of electricity is indicated in technical documentation, because the higher its indicator, the more will be the cost of paying for electricity. These recommendations also apply to the purchase of an induction hob, since the power of the stove affects not only the consumption of electricity, but also the speed and quality of cooking.

Varieties of power hobs

All existing hobs differ from each other in various ways:

  • by performance (power of the induction cooker in kW);
  • by the number of burners;
  • by the presence or absence of an oven;
  • to size hob;
  • by the presence or absence of a control system for adjusting the heating temperature.

The power consumption of an induction cooker can reach up to 10 kW. This indicator depends on the number of burners and their overall performance indicator. Often all models have four burners different diameter. The smallest of them has a low performance indicator - 1 kW, and the largest indicator can reach 3 kW.

Types of burners and their performance parameters

To date, manufacturers of induction cookers offer consumers hobs with burners of different diameters and purposes:

  • small circuits are used for slow cooking (meat, cereals) and have a power consumption of up to 1 kW;
  • the average diameter of the burners is intended for the preparation of side dishes and soups;
  • large circuits have the highest capacity - up to 3 kW, and are used exclusively for cooking in large containers (the maximum heating temperature of a large circuit can reach 500 ° C).

Some manufacturers equip models with double burners, which allow you to independently increase or decrease the heating area. This function controls the temperature of the heating element and allows you to smoothly adjust the power consumption of the induction cooker depending on the requirements of the cook. Also, combined burners make it possible to cook food in dishes with an oblong shape.

The overall performance of induction cookers directly depends on the number of burners included and their size. Although best solution will be the purchase of a panel with the highest power consumption, it is necessary to take into account not only the speed of cooking, but also what electrical wiring is installed in the house.

If the housing has not been replaced by the electrical network for a long time, there is a possibility that when two or more burners with the highest power rating are turned on, plugs on the electrical panel will constantly knock out or the wiring will light up.

Average power of the induction hob

If installing a powerful hob is not possible (for example, due to poor wiring in the house), and a stove with a low power rating is not quite what you need, you can choose a hob with an average level of energy consumption.

Thanks to a wide range of induction cookers, you can choose a hob that will satisfy the needs of any customer. A good solution would be to purchase a Bosch panel with a power of up to 3.5 kW. Such a model can be installed independently by simply connecting the equipment to the outlet.

Despite the low productivity, the panel has 4 burners, like others, more powerful models. However, the disadvantage of this choice will be an increase in cooking time due to the low heating rate of the induction surface.

If you need a model with the best heating, but low power, it is recommended to pay attention to Bosch panels with power up to 5 kW. Such induction cookers allow you to quickly cook food, while not creating a strong load on the power grid.

Choice of hob

In addition to what power of the induction cooker is optimal, there is a list of other criteria that must be followed when choosing a hob. When buying a stove, it is important to initially decide on the purpose for which it will be used.

If you want to use the stove in public places (for example, in a restaurant), then it is best to give preference to appliances with a large working surface and high working power. If the board is to be used in living conditions, then you can stop at small models with an average level of performance.

In addition, when choosing, consider:

  • type of selected panel: built-in or independent induction cooker;
  • the material from which the stove is made: glass-ceramic, enamel or stainless steel;
  • type of heating element;
  • Is there an oven included?
  • the presence of heating sensors and a control system for smooth adjustment of the performance of the burners.

Also, the choice is influenced by the cost of the plate. The price of hobs varies depending on the configuration of the model. The most expensive are panels with additional burner heating sensors, on which the automatic smooth adjustment of the power of the induction cooker depends. If there is no need for sensors, then you can choose cheaper models that do not differ in quality from expensive counterparts.

I looked at the new gas tariffs, seriously thought about alternatives ... My daughter moves into a new building by the end of summer and there is time to read and calculate which is more economical - an induction electric or gas hob? We decided on the oven - only electric, but we thought about the surface. By the way, in the apartment heating system, gas boiler. Let me show you my calculations first.

Energy cost calculator for gas and induction stoves

I wrote a simple calculator: in the comparison table of two stoves, enter your device power values (they are in the passport-instructions for any stove), the cost of energy and gas (enter in your monetary units- the calculator will still calculate the percentage of the difference).

How much gas does a gas stove consume?

The gas consumption was calculated as follows: the experimental unit - Liberty PG3020BG-DCB(412), double burner. The total power of the burners is 4.2 kW. We convert kW to m3: 1 m3 of gas - 10 kW, 4.2 kW - 0.42 m3 of gas per hour of operation of the burners at full power. I decided to count like that - the work of the stove for an hour a day, albeit at full power, you can’t count more precisely in theory. We have 12.6 m3 of gas in 30 days. The tariff at this stage (summer 2015 in Ukraine) for 1 m3 is 7.18 UAH (34 cents, 19 rubles) - 12.6 m3 costs 90 UAH (4 dollars, 205 rubles).

How much electricity does an induction cooker use?

We consider the consumption of electricity for induction: experimental stove - Electrolux EHH 3920, double burner. The total power of the burners is 3.2 kW, multiplied by 30 days. We use 96 kW per month. The tariff for 1 kW is UAH 0.36, UAH 34.56 per month ($1.7, 89 rubles).

Using an induction cooker is 60% cheaper. I'm shocked myself... Calculations require verification in practice, but they are not far from the real numbers.

By force of habit, I always leaned towards gas, but I had the opportunity to try induction in cooking and care - it's a fairy tale! I read that the taste of food is different - well, maybe for the better.

I will not describe the indisputable advantages of induction in everyday life. But besides aesthetics, easy washing and lack of room heating, there are other advantages.

Advantages of the induction cooker:

  • Heating occurs much faster than on gas. In fact, the same volume of water boils faster on an induction hob than in an electric kettle. I personally checked: 5 liters in 4 minutes on induction, 25 minutes on gas (there is a suspicion that our gas is not so good ...)
  • On average, 4 times more economical in terms of energy consumption from a heating element.
  • During cooking, you can lay a paper towel under the pan and fry without a lid to your heart's content. There is a video with a dollar on which they put a pot of water - the water boils and the dollar is safe and sound. The main thing is that the paper does not contain metals (the trick with the euro bill does not work).
  • Does not smoke dishes, ceilings and furniture.
  • You can do without the hood.
  • Timers and a bunch of programs.
  • Temperature adjustment is instantaneous, without accidental fading on low heat.

Disadvantages of the induction cooker:

  • Conditionally fragile surface.
  • Special dishes for induction cookers are more expensive, but there are induction discs - “adapters”, for example, for Turks and wok pans. I note that the latest hobs are equipped with wok recesses.
  • Aluminum utensils, which conduct heat well, are not suitable, and copper is not suitable - the best of utensils. Glass and ceramics are also not suitable. But the choice of dishes is not for everyone. In addition, you can easily check the suitability of dishes - by attaching a magnet to the bottom.
  • In some cases, it is necessary to derive the phase for the slab.

What are good gas stoves and hobs:

  • A gas stove is cheaper than an induction one.
  • There are no problems with the choice of dishes.
  • Unaffected by power outages.
  • In certain regions, the price of gas is significantly lower than electricity (not our case.)
  • No wiring problems.

Disadvantages of a gas stove:

  • Explosiveness.
  • Be sure to legitimize any movement of the plate, problems with redevelopment.
  • Cleaning a gas hob is much more labor intensive.
  • Gas smokes, forced exhaust is necessary.
  • Very low efficiency - a maximum of 50%, induction tends to 95%.

At the family council, it was decided to take the gas, which was discussed above. As a temporary solution with subsequent replacement with induction. Until they connected it, the gas was not yet released. As soon as they appear real calculations- I will write.

AT modern world the energy saving trend is growing, progressive innovative methods and new heating devices are appearing. Induction hobs are very popular today. They are economical and safe to use.

Choosing new stove, the owners are trying to find out more information about the level of its power and features of operation.

Power of the induction hob in kW

The principle of operation of the hob is the use of high frequency induction current. The streams are created by special copper coils that heat the dishes magnetic field. The built-in electronic unit fully controls the cooking process, turning the device on or off on its own.

A feature of cooking devices is a targeted effect on the dishes, and not on environment. During the operation of the device, the burners remain absolutely cold, only the dishes heat up.

Important! For induction furnaces you need to take special dishes with good magnetic permeability. Such materials are ferromagnetic alloys.

Power is the most important indicator for hob. It depends on the speed of cooking.

But the higher the power, the greater the power consumption of the device. Therefore, it is better to find the best option.

Standard inductions have a total power of 1 to 9 kW. For apartments, it is better to choose plates with a minimum level, since the installation of such a device does not require the installation of a separate electrical wiring or the issuance of permits. In private cottages, it is possible to install a stronger plate.

Panel power for 4 burners

The hob is electric, the power in kW of which can be different, has different diameters of the circuits and their number. Standard Models into four circuits have:

  • Large burner level up to 3 kW;
  • Two medium ones up to 1.5 kW;
  • Small up to 1 kW.

How much does an induction hob consume

How much electricity does an induction cooktop use? The total power of the induction cooker depends on the current strength, the size of the circuits and their number. The most popular is the variant with four burners and a high level of current. When choosing a stove, it is imperative to take into account the possibilities of electrical wiring in the room.

If you need an electric hob, the power consumption and the number of circuits are selected based on the needs and preferences of the family:

  • Small burners are used for meat dishes, cereals, potatoes, cook slowly, without burning food, have a power of up to 1 kW;
  • Medium circuits are used to prepare a side dish or soup, have a level of up to 2 kW;
  • Large contours have high level current - up to 3 kW, are used for large pots, the heating power reaches up to 500 gr. FROM.

An induction hob whose power consumption is different should have double burners, making it possible to independently regulate the area and the level of heating of the device.

Important! When using copper or aluminum cookware persistent stains may appear on ceramics.

How to choose the right induction hob

Various hobs have from 2 to 6 burners, making it possible to regulate the level of current. Each circuit can be heated autonomously from the others, which makes it possible to use dishes of different diameters. You can determine the optimal number of circuits by the number of people in the family and the size of the kitchen. For a cramped kitchen and a small family, you can use a 2-burner stove.

The standard and most common option is a plate for 4 circuits of various diameters.

Stronger and more expensive models have many features that allow you to adjust the temperature, enable remote control or use the touch screen.

Important! ceramic panel can be severely affected by regular sugar. Spilled sand or sweet syrup should be removed immediately.

The power of induction panels from various manufacturers

Consider the features of induction devices from well-known world manufacturers. Siemens (BSH) is designed for large areas. She has:

  • 4 contours;
  • infrared sensor;
  • multimedia display.

CATA from the manufacturer of the same name has a good choice size and many functions:

  • "Booster" or transferring the power level to adjacent burners;
  • Touch type display;
  • Protection from children.

Electrolux has full functionality and additionally offers:

  • Reinforced ceramics on the surface;
  • original design;
  • The absence of specific working areas, dishes can be placed in any surface area.

WOK differs in that you can set the minimum or high power level, it has:

  • Small recesses to increase heat transfer;
  • A combination of ceramic and induction circuits.

So, how much does an electric hob consume? Each product requires a different amount of energy. New induction panels are distinguished by good economy, safety of use and provide the owners with maximum comfort in cooking.

It is worth being prepared for the fact that it will require a huge amount of electricity. This device compared to others home appliances has the highest power. For this reason, the installation of such a stove requires separate sockets and lines. For houses where there is no gas equipment, and only electric stoves are used, preferential tariffs for electricity are established. So, what is the standard power of an electric stove?

An electric stove with two cast-iron heating elements most often has a power of 2000W, and a similar device with 4 elements - from 5000W. If a four-burner stove, then the value will start from 10400 watts. Naturally than more number heating and other functional elements the higher the electricity consumption.

When choosing a device, it is worth remembering that the power of the electric stove also affects the heating rate of the burners.

A separate place among electric stoves is given to devices with induction heating elements. Such equipment also has a cost. But if it is used correctly, then the energy costs will be less. This is ensured by:

  • heating occurs very rapidly;
  • the heating switches off automatically when the dishes are removed;
  • special dishes do not allow heat loss.

Dependence of power and energy consumption

Each owner wants to know how much electricity his appliance consumes, taking into account his functionality. A conventional electric stove, which has four cast iron burners, consumes on average approximately 4 to 8 kilowatts per hour. But this indicator is calculated on the condition that all burners work together, respectively, if only one is turned on, consumption is significantly reduced.

Every housewife should remember that with proper save electricity consumption. With a few rules, this is easy to do:

  • in order not to lose excess heat, the diameters of the burner and the pan should match as much as possible;
  • the smooth bottom of the dish improves heat transfer;
  • cast iron burners can be turned off a little earlier, as they cool down for a long time, respectively, cooking continues after turning off.

Choosing cookware with the same burner diameter

Also, to achieve maximum savings, it is worth knowing the power of individual functional elements of the device. Below are the approximate values of this indicator of the main components of the plate:

  • burner with a diameter of up to 14.5 cm - 1 kW;
  • heating element with a diameter of 18 cm -1.5 kW;
  • electric hotplate with a diameter of 20 cm - 2 kW;
  • lighting - 15-20 W;
  • Grilled heater - 1.5 kW;
  • Heating element from below - 1 kW;
  • TEN from above - 0.8 kW;
  • spit motor - 6 watts.

It is easy to come to the conclusion that the electric stove consumes the most energy when it is working. large burner, but do not forget that the cooking process on it is accelerated and goes much faster.

Energy classes

Each manufacturer is trying to increase the competitiveness of their products. Therefore, they strive to reduce energy consumption as much as possible. Electric stoves, like any appliances, are divided into classes according to electricity consumption. The designation is performed in Latin letters from A to G, starting from the highest. Today you can see the following designations: A ++ or A +++. This means that the energy consumption figures are higher than class A.

The class depends on the amount of energy consumption when reaching set temperatures. Ovens consume the most energy, but with improved insulation that will reduce heat loss, significant savings are achieved.

Network connection features

When it is worth considering its high power, so you must adhere to certain rules. To install such a device, you will need:

  • power outlet 32A;
  • introductory machine more than or equal to 32A;
  • three-core copper cable, which has double insulation and a cross section of more than 4 sq. mm;
  • RCD not less than 32A.

To not happen contact overheating, each element of the wiring must be of high quality in compliance with safety regulations and installation instructions.

According to experts, the power consumption of a stove not only depends on the characteristics of the appliance itself, but to a greater extent on the conditions of use.
